Recently, I have been very busy working with PPC campaigns. I use AdWords to advertise my websites and have learned a lot of things to make my campaign perfect. Quality check is very important for AdWords and you need to ensure that your quality is high to beat your fellow competitors.
AdWords quality depends on your ads, CTR and the landing page. If your Ad quality is not good then your ad will not display. Google will ask you to raise your per click cost in order to display your ads. No one likes to spend more money on something that can be bought at a low rate. The bottom line is to improve your ad quality to save money.
Here are the tips that would help you improve your CTR and quality score:
1. Use Plural words in Ads - Use the word ‘buy blue socks’ rather than ‘buy blue sock’.
2. Target mispelled keywords- There are many people who do not spell properly. They know what they want and will click your ad no matter what the spelling is. E.g. You may use keywords like ‘bleu socks’ or ‘blue scoks’. Lot of people end up typing wrong spellings while typing fast.
3. Use lesser keywords - I would suggest you to use maximum of 25 keywords per campaign. More keywords will result in inviting the wrong people.
4. Use keywords relevant to the Ad - You get to add 2 lines apart from the main heading of your ad. Try and repeat your keywords in all 3 lines. For e.g. Heading can be ‘Buy Blue Socks’, Line one can be ‘Blue Socks for cheap’ and line two can be ‘Blue Socks for sale’. An advertisement displays keywords in bold which means if someone searches for ‘blue socks’ then all these keywords will be highlighted in the ad which will make it look more prominent.
5. Daily Budget - Always keep your daily budget more than the recommended budget. I usually keep my budget 5 times more than the recommended budget. You can pause the campaign once you reach your actual budget.
