Get your wordpress blog out of supplemental results

Recently I have been involved in finding out as to how can I get rid of supplemental results. I guess I have achieved this by using some tips and tricks. I would like to thank Shoemoney to write about this on his blog.
Most of the people actually do not know what supplemental results are. I would explain it in a simple language for my readers.

Supplemental results in Google is not duplicate content which exists on some other site. Your page shows up in supplemental resullts when the Google bot sees two different URLs showing the same content. For e.g Print pages, rss etc. To get rid of this you need to block these pages for Google bot. This can be done by doing some modifications in your robots.txt file. I had more than 50% of the total results as supplemental results before I changed my robots.txt for this blog. You can check by robots.txt file and use the same for your wordpress blog to get rid of supplemental results.

Getting rid of supplemental results will definetely give you good ranking for your keywords and improve the traffic. Currently I am working on my forum for Indian Webmasters which has more than 90% results as supplemental. Will post it here once I am successful at it. Any help with getting rid of supplemental results in vBulletin will be appreciated.
