More deaths due to rain in Maharashtra

I really feel very sad while posting this. Yes, yet again many people have lost their lives due to heavy rainfall this year in Maharashtra. I was watching the news yesterday and it seems 40% of the predicted rainfall this year has fallen just in one day at Mumbai. For people who don’t know, Mumbai is a mixed bag kind of city…. there are people who will not be affected by major heavy rainfall and there are some for whom the entire life changes due to such rains. There are many low lying areas in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra where people build houses without expecting such calamities. I am sure many of us have seen houses build on pipelines, drainages etc. I am watching the news as I type this and it seems there are more that 50 people dead due to rain this year. The local municipal corporation has said that things have gone across their limits and nothing can be done from their side. The only hope now is to pray for the poor people who live in slums and at ground level.
