Around two years ago I made a post on how not to get banned from adsense which got me lot of back links and some comments which actually appreciated my job. It has been two years since then and the world has moved over. Things have changed at my end as well where I am making money online with affiliate programs. The most exciting of which is eBay of course. You can advertise eBay products using your EPN account and make good money.
There has been lot of controversy with EPN lately when around 1000 publishers no matter how big or small were banned by the eBay Partner Network on 20th August 2008. People are complaining and swearing Steve from eBay like crazy but they still remain banned untill they get another call from the EPN team. I am not going to get into the controversy and argument over this which almost every blogger is doing nowadays. I have been doing some research on this since a few days and these are my recommendations if you want to be safe with your EPN accounts:
1. DO NOT use Cookie Stuffing. No matter how safe or undetectable it is.
2. Do not buy guaranteed sign ups or make fake ones.
3. Do not use EPN on websites that just have listings of products with no content whatsoever.
4. Use content relevant to your product listings. The content has to be unique, helpful and understandable ofcourse.
5. Do not buy fake traffic to manipulate your EPC.
6. Most Important - Do not use PPC campaigns like Adwords, YSM, Adbrite etc. to drive traffic towards your eBay product listings. This is against their TOS.
7. Do not use the word eBay in your domain.
8. Do not use links on 3rd party websites or forums which sends users directly to eBay.

That’s interesting. I never knew eBay were so strict. I assume it’s because they’re paying for signups(?) 6. and 8. are unusually strict. I suppose they’ve been burned by grey-hat jiggery-pokery.

It\’s not the stuffing that\’s the problem, it\’s the religious whitehats that make it the problem.
