Was thinking for a while on a topic to post on when this thing came to my mind. I would share something I have personally achieved and I am sure all webmasters would love to do it. No, I am not sure if this will index more pages of your website or reduce your supplemental pages in Google. I have been experimenting with this and it does work for me. Recently I have been ranking no.1 & 2 on Google for high competitive words in my niche :”>…NO!! I am not talking about this blog.

Alright! as usual lets put it in points and I am sorry if any of the points were covered before in previous posts:

1. Meta description and keywords are not dead. Make sure you use unique description and keywords for all your pages.

2. Use unique titles on all pages and make sure they are relevant to your page.

3. Rather than typing your URL in your address bar, go to Google, search for your keyword and click on your site. This should be practiced every time you go to your site. Even if the site is on the 19838th page. I don’t know HOW it helps …but it does for sure.

4. Keep your eye on spam. Delete the spam ASAP!!! You don’t want Google to treat you as spam.

5. Always be in a good neighborhood. Avoid back links from irrelevant and bad quality sites.

6. Use Google sitemap only if you know how to use it. (More on this later)

7. If you write an article about me, always link it to my blog.

8. Give a different extension to your duplicate pages. Print pages should have a different extension than your original page. This way you are saved from having duplicate content.

9. Always W3C complaint. No excuses for this one. Make sure all your CSS and HTML is W3C compliant.

10. Always try to keep your code clean and short. Avoid unnecessary java script.

11. Keep visiting Matt Cutts’s Blog.
